International Perinatal Bereavement Conference Information

The International Perinatal Bereavement Conference is a globally recognized platform that convenes professionals and advocates from various disciplines to address perinatal bereavement. It serves as a knowledge hub for sharing research, best practices, and insights in the field.

The conference draws those who care for families experiencing miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, newborn death, a baby with a life-limiting condition, traumatic childbirth, death of the birthing parent, and pregnancy and/or birthing care that is disrespectful and lacks compassion.

The 2024 International Perinatal Bereavement Conference is not just an opportunity for professionals to expand their understanding of perinatal bereavement. It’s a means of support for families who have suffered the loss of a child during pregnancy, birth, or shortly after. It offers a space for dialogue and education, fostering a sense of community among those touched by perinatal loss.

The purpose of the conference is to foster the relational aspects of perinatal bereavement care among clinicians, researchers, and parent advocates.

Schedule and Sessions

There will be a select set conference sessions over the course of the 3-day conference. This includes preconference sessions on Wed May 15th. There will also be a handful of plenary sessions featuring talks from prominent figures in the perinatal bereavement sphere.

Additionally, there will be a collection of concurrent sessions happening at designated times. Participants can learn more about current research, personal experiences, and bereaved family narratives.

My Session Presentation

I’m honored to contribute to this event by presenting my session workshop, Hidden Heartache: Using Expressive Arts to Process Traumatic Perinatal Grief and Loss.

It’s a subject that I am passionate about, both personally and professionally. And I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my presentation. My goal is to provide professionals and families with a deeper understanding of the subject and practical insights to help them navigate the complex challenges of perinatal bereavement.

In this session, participants will discover how the expressive arts can provide a unique channel through which grieving individuals can share, process, and heal from their traumatic grief experiences.

Hope to see you there!
